48 HOURS IN MANCHESTER

Po menší odmlce vás zase vítám u novýho článku, tentokrát už ale nepíšu ze Skotska, ale z Olomouce, kde trávím vánoce. Dnes vám povím něco málo o anglickým Manchesteru, kam jsem se vypravila před dvěma týdny a můžete se těšit i na kratší video na konci článku.

//Finally, here I am with a new post after a while. Even though this article regards my British experience, concretely my trip to Manchester i set on two weeks ago, I'm not writing from Scotland this time but Olomouc, my hometown I'm spending the Christmas time in. Apart from a bunch of photos from the second largest English city, there is a short video at the very end of the article. :)

Celý výlet byl úplně spontánní a Manchester byl v podstatě docela náhodnou volbou. Jednoho dne jsem se cítila úplně bez energie, otrávená a znuděná, věděla jsem, že potřebuju, aby se v mým životě pořád něco dělo, aby nespadl do stereotypu a tak jsem se rozhodla, že prostě někam pojedu. Cestování je to, co mě dělá nejvíc šťastnou a má pro mě největší hodnotu. Napadl mě Liverpool, Leeds a nakonec jsem teda o pár hodin později už nasedala do autobusu a o osm hodin později byla v Manchesteru. Ubytování jsem si zajednala přes můj oblíbenej Booking.com a úplně poprvý tak spala v hostelu se sdílenými pokoji.

I had lack of energy one day, i was annoyed and felt depressed, and i knew that i need to fight against it. I hate stereotypes and i need something to be still going on in my life, and so i decided to go somewhere, no matter where, because travelling is what makes me happy and what i live for. I was thing about going to Liverpool, Leeds, but at the end i ended up sitting on a bus to Manchester in a couple of hours and 8 hours later i found myself in the city itself. I found an accommodation on my favourite Booking.com. For the first time, i stayed in a hostel with shared rooms and it was great!

První den jsem prochodila centrum, vánoční trhy a Northern Quarter, kde na každým rohu narazíte na nějakej sekáč, vintage shop nebo obchod s deskama. Já konkrétně měla úspěch v obchodech COW Vintage a Loving Vintage. Druhý den jsem se centrem města vydala k Sheffield University, City Quays, kde mají sídlo například BBC a ITV a i když nejsem nějaký velký fanoušek fotbalu, stadion Manchester United jsem si nemohla nechat ujít. Taky jsem navštívila galerii umění a celý výlet zakončila v obchodním domě Arndale.

//I spent my first day in Manchester strolling through the city centre, Christmas markets and the Northern Quarter well-known for awesome secondhand, vintage and music shops. I personally succeed in shops called COW Vintage and Loving Vintage. I went to the University of Sheffield, City Quays, where the BBC and ITV take place, and although I'm not a big football fan, i couldn't miss the opportunity to see the Manchester United stadium the second day. I also visited Manchester Art Gallery and Arndale shopping centre.

Není divu, že je Manchester tak "cool", když je rodištěm několika světoznámých kapel. No řekněte, kdo nezná Joy Division, Oasis, The Smiths nebo The 1975? :)

//That's no wonder that Manchester is such a cool city when it's a birthplace of many well-know bands. I think everyone knows Joy Division, Oasis, The Smiths or The 1975. :)
